Manufactured by Allsteel
Gather is unique in its scope and offers a simple recipe to encourage collaboration, whether it’s in the café, brainstorming room, or more formal conference room. No single Gather piece does just one thing, and each piece can be used and interpreted depending on the space, the person, and the activity. From tables to seating, technology to space division, Gather provides a comprehensive lineup of solutions.
Without Allsteel precedent to build upon, the HOK Product Design/IDa team set out to create heretofore unseen, multifunctional objects that would become essential once you had them. A lofty goal recognized with a BEST OF NEOCON 2011 Editors’ Choice Award, People’s Choice Award, and Seating Award; the Buildings Magazine Product Innovation Award; and named Interiors & Sources Reader’s Choice Award Best Seating of 2011.
Gather resulted from setting aside preconceived ideas of what office furniture should be, what it should do, and how it should look. Gather embodies the ambiguity we allow furniture at home - the dining table/desk, the footrest/seat, the trunk/bench.
Designed by HOK in collaboration with IDa Design, the team included Tom Polucci, Annie Bergeron, Steve Hargis and Louis Schump and IDa Design’s Mitch Bakker, Jennifer Wammack and Zach Raven.
